At Iye Africa, we are committed to eradicating maternal and infant mortality in Nigeria through life-changing information that empowers women to make informed health decisions.

 According to the World Health Organization, a pregnant woman dies every seven minutes in Nigeria, while approximately 850,000 children under the age of five die each year. Beyond the heartbreaking loss of life, these preventable deaths have profound social and economic consequences for families, communities, and the future of Africa.

    Some nurses don’t treat pregnant women well. Some of them don’t care and are rude, it’s discouraging for pregnant women.

    In my community, we still drink water from the river, and we don’t have any good road to the closest hospital.

Iye Africa is working to close critical health information gaps by educating millions of Nigerian families on how to prevent maternal and infant deaths through accessible digital and radio programs. Our programs—Abiye, Allah Ya Raba Lafiya and Omumu Atoka—currently air on 17 radio stations across Nigeria, delivering life-saving maternal and child health information in Yoruba, Igbo, Pidgin and Hausa.

Iye Africa is turning awareness into action by training and building a strong, coordinated network of healthcare providers who can extend the reach and impact of life-saving health messages. Through this network, we connect more families across Nigeria with trusted, accurate, and culturally relevant health information—empowering them to make informed decisions and take timely action that can save lives.
